Alumni Connections: College of Education, May 2011
The close of the spring semester at UCCS brought a flurry of activity on campus, including the launch of our $1.5 Billion fundraising campaign and the rededication of the Science & Engineering Building to the Osborne Center for Science and Engineering. The activity culminated last Friday when hundreds of students walked across the stage at the World Arena and became members of the UCCS Alumni and Friends Association, which is now over 32,000 graduates strong. We're so proud of the positive changes that continue to occur both on campus among our faculty and students and off-campus within the alumni family. Thank you for all you continue to do for your alma mater; we look forward to launching additional benefits and services in the months to come. Sincerely, Jennifer Hane CU Announces $1.5 Billion Fundraising Campaign
The university has raised more than $900 million since the silent phase of the campaign began in July 2006. Major fundraising campaigns typically conduct a silent phase to build momentum and engage key constituents. The public phase will continue until the goal is reached. But stealing the stage were youngsters from the Family Development Center who performed two songs and presented Mary Osborne with a bouquet. The Family Development Center is one of several campus units benefiting from the Osborne's generosity. (More) Snyder to be College of Education Dean

Fenell plans to return to the faculty in the Department of Counseling and Human Services. “Dr. Snyder’s long experience in leading the preparation of teachers, administrators and counselors, as well as serving as an administrator of K-8 school, is unique,” Bacon said. “I believe she will provide outstanding leadership in a field that is vital to the future of southern Colorado.’’ (More) Fenell Joins ROTC Hall of Fame
