Seeking New Board Members
This month, we're excited to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the UCCS Alumni Advisory Board. Board members serve three-year terms and are involved in a variety of activities including event planning, selection of scholarship recipients, interaction with current students and more. If you're interested in serving your alma mater in this capacity, learn more online. Applications will be accepted through May 15.

Community Service Opportunity
We're also looking forward to a new alumni community service project that will allow the more than 15,000 of you who live and work in the Pikes Peak Region to make a difference in the community we love. This year, we are proud to be partnering with the American Heart Association for their annual Heart Walk that will be held at UCCS on Saturday, June 4. If you're interested in learning more or signing up to participate, please contact me for more information.

As the spring semester draws to a close, I'd like to thank each of you for your continued involvement with UCCS. As alumni, we have many reasons to be proud.

Education Offers New English as a Second Language Services

UCCS will offer an intensive English program for students and greater Colorado Springs community members this summer.

The Office of Global Programs within the College of Education recently developed a new service for international students and non-native English speakers who are interested in improving their English speaking, writing and listening skills. (More)

Buechner to Alums: Don't Wing It

CU President Emeritus John Buechner shared a personal eleventh commandment with UCCS alumni at the Spring Alumni Advancement Lecture Series, a summary of lessons learned in a 34 year CU career and as an elected official. (More)

UCCS is offering a slate of terrific summer camps, including STEM, Sports, Theatreworks, Destination: Art (museum field trips throughout the Front Range), Classics, and many Recreational Camps (just to name a few). Age ranges vary but many are geared towards tweens and teens and offer a unique opportunity to experience the UCCS campus. Lunch is included in all full-day camps!
