Community & Regional Relations
Outreach is important to meeting the campus vision and mission. University Advancement professionals coordinate the university's primary outreach activities to the community and region. This includes memberships in key organizations, attendance at key community events, representation on important community initiatives and the creation of partnerships supporting the university's mission.

University Advancement works closely with staff from the CU Office of Government Relations to represent campus interests at both the State and Federal levels. This includes monitoring of key legislation, working with the local delegations and promoting university opportunities for funding.

University Advancement is responsible for the official UCCS Institutional Website homepage and is leading a redesign by developing a long-term strategic vision, content strategy, information architecture and user experience design that will help achieve the mission of the UCCS homepage and improve the experiences of prospective students, current students, faculty, staff and partners in their work and study.

Keeping faculty and staff accurately informed of the latest actions taken by the university is the goal of University Advancement’s Internal Communication function. The most visible efforts are Communique, a constantly updated website that carries the latest university news and the University Calendar which carries event listings from throughout campus.

University Advancement helps coordinate the photography needs for the campus in several ways: we maintain an online selection of high-resolution downloadable photography, keep a large physical collection of campus photos, and can help you hire a professional photographer to capture your event or photos for your marketing materials.

University Advancement coordinates the use of social media throughout campus by using social media to interact with the UCCS community, disseminating accurate information in real-time, and providing campus-wide social media training for faculty and staff.

University Advancement's University Events office plans over 50 special events per year ranging from groundbreakings to fundraisers. We work with selected campus units including the Chancellor's Office and the CU Foundation to ensure that each event is unique and has a successful outcome.
