Martin Wood is Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In his role he oversees marketing, branding, publications, public and community relations, federal relations, alumni relations, and provides strategic development support. He manages community and regional partnerships and oversees major university events. Wood is also the Managing Director of the National Institute of Science, Space and Security Centers (NISSSSC). In this role he oversees the Center for Space Studies, Center for Homeland Security, Trauma, Health and Hazards Center and the Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education (CSTEME). Wood is a member of the Chancellor's leadership team and an officer of the university. Martin has worked in higher education for 32 years.
Wood is past chair of the Board of Trustees for Penrose-St. Francis Health System, chairs the greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce Center for Regional Advancement, and serves on the boards of the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Leadership Forum.
Wood and his wife Pam and two children, Michelle and Megan have resided in Colorado Springs since 1993. Wood received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Emporia State University in Kansas.
