Message from the Director
Writing is an essential skill to develop throughout your life. At some point, every class you attend and job you are employed at will require you to communicate your ideas through writing. Our goal at the Excel Writing Center is to help you become a stronger writer through practice, revision, and critical thinking. We are NOT a drop-off or editing service, but we would be more than happy to work with you to strengthen your writing skills.
The Writing Center helps students from all classes and majors across the University. Check out our online schedule to view a list of available peer consultants and appointment times. We do accept walk-ins, but you are not guaranteed an appointment with a consultant unless you have signed up online. Even if you don’t need to make an appointment, the Writing Center is a great place to study. We have plenty of computers for you to work on. We also have a quiet study space with a nice view, and GOOD coffee.
My office is located in the Writing Center, and I’m always happy to chat. We can talk about writing, reading, classes, even career goals. Maybe you’d be interested in working at the Writing Center as a peer consultant.
The Writing Center is located in Columbine Hall 316, and my office is in the back of the center. Come over and let’s chat.
