Writing Center Open House

Come by on Tuesday, September 9th at any time between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to enjoy some snacks, see a magic show, and get to know the Writing Center. We will have many stations where you can ask questions and learn all about our online scheduling, workshops and events, employment opportunities, online consultations, and much more!

National Day on Writing (Week-Long Celebration)

We are so excited about this year's National Day on Writing that we're taking a whole week to celebrate it! Stop by the Writing Center any time during our open hours between Monday, October 20th and Friday, October 24th to celebrate with us. We will have fun activities in the Center every day - help us make word art, write a haiku and get a cookie, or add to our ongoing story. We will also be holding an Open Mic Night at Clyde's Pub at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22nd where anyone is encouraged to share any obscure or underappreciated literature.

Children's Day Children's Book Workshop and Book Drive

Always wanted to write a children's book? Stop by the Writing Center on Wednesday, November 19th to participate in our workshop! You can make a nice gift for a child you know to celebrate Children's Day on November 20th. Or, if you still want to give but can't make it to our workshop, bring by any children's books that you're no longer using to donate to our book drive.

Dead Week Event

We at the Writing Center know how stressful studying for finals can be, and we're here to help! Stop by to get some stress relief and study pointers, talk to our writing guru for quick writing tips, and enjoy some coffee and snacks.

WOMBAT Workshop Series

Check out our WOMBAT workshop series. What's a WOMBAT? Writing Ordeals Made Better and Terrific-er! These stand-alone workshops are for anyone who is thinking about or engaging in ANY kind of writing and communication. They're brought to you by the Writing Center, where we take making meaning seriously and believe we should have fun in the process.
