Gayanne Scott is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Finance and Human Resources at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In this position, Mrs. Scott is responsible for the general fund budget development, coordination of the campus all funds budget, and budget implementation at UCCS. As the deputy chief financial officer, Mrs. Scott serves in a campus-wide leadership role responsible for providing guidance and oversight of accounting and financial processes. In addition, Mrs. Scott provides general guidance and oversight for human resources functions and the development, revision, maintenance and promulgation of institutional policies, contracting, property, space and leases, and records management. Mrs. Scott supervises the division heads and provides strategic leadership and direction for the following functional areas: Accounting Services, Budget and Planning, Human Resources, Student Financial Services, and the Office of Policy, Contracting, and Property.
Mrs. Scott's employment association with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs spans four decades beginning in 1989. She earned a bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from UCCS in 1987. She began her career with the University working as an Accountant I in the Budget and Planning Office. Mrs. Scott was integral in the creation of the UCCS Resource Management Division in February of 2005 bringing together the Accounting, Budget, and Student Financial Services areas to create efficiencies in the way UCCS manages its financial resources. Human Resources was added to this group in 2013 to further connect one of the most critical resources at UCCS, its employees. Mrs. Scott's service to the University has been centered on blood donation. She served as the Blood Drive chair or co-chair from 1996-2003 and again from 2011-2013. As a committed donor, Mrs. Scott is approaching 7 gallons donated since working at UCCS. She assisted with the transition of this important service that UCCS does for the Colorado Springs community from Memorial Hospital to Bonfils Blood Center in 2013. UCCS was named as one of the best performing education blood drive partners by Bonfils in 2013. Mrs. Scott was a member of the 2004 University of Colorado Emerging Leaders Program. She chaired the Holiday Service Committee in 1993-94 and has served on numerous committees including the Diversity Alliance Committee, University of Colorado Staff Council and executive level search committees. Prior to her appointment as the Assistant Vice Chancellor in 2014, Mrs. Scott served as the Senior Executive Director of Human and Financial Resources and the Campus Budget Officer.
