Annual University Club Kick-Off Reception - Rocky Mountain Microbrew Tasting

Friday, September 14, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the UCCS Upper Lodge

You've probably attended our University Club wine tastings in the past. Now, we invite you to join us as we delve into the world of the microbrew. Join us for a refreshing tasting hosted by a local brewery and learn about how their beer is made from the freshest local ingredients. We'll also learn about the ways in which microbrewing supports the community and sustains natural resources while protecting the environment.

October Luncheon: Memorial Hospital & Branch Medical Campus Partnership

Thursday, October 4, 11:30-1:00 p.m. at the UCCS Upper Lodge

Explore the ways in which the business community could benefit from the Memorial Hospital lease and proposed University of Colorado branch medical campus. An exciting prospect for both the University and the Pikes Peak Region, much of the effort will be housed in the new Lane Academic Health Sciences Center on North Nevada Avenue. The Lane Center will feature not only space for a branch campus but also for Peak Vista Community Health Centers. Join us to discover how this new partnership will ass to the prestige of the University while enhancing quality of life in the region.

November Luncheon: The National Sports, Arts and Wellness Village and North Nevada Redevelopment Plan

Friday, November 9, 11:30-1:00 p.m. at the UCCS University Center 116

All of us have witnessed the tremendous growth and redevelopment along the North Nevada corridor - and there is more to come! Learn about future plans for the area that will benefit both the business community and the University while you hear from our business partners about their unique relationship with UCCS. We'll include discussion of plans for a National Sports, Arts and Wellness Village that will truly transform the corridor through unique local and national partnerships.

Chancellor's State of the University Address

Thursday, January 17, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the UCCS Upper Lodge

Join Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak for her annual State of the University Address. The Chancellor will bring you up to speed on the latest developments at UCCS, including new programs and initiatives and plans for further campus growth. She will also provide examples of how the University partners with the community to promote economic development throughout the Pikes Peak Region.

February Luncheon: Partnership between US Olympic Committee and UCCS

Thursday, February 21, 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. at the Olympic Training Center

Come learn about the future of sports initiatives at UCCS and the unique partnership between UCCS and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). Faculty members from all six colleges are providing research, technology development, education and internships to the USOC.

March Luncheon: Mind-Studios Innovation

Thursday, March 21, 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. at the UCCS University Center 116

Are you an inventor? Have you ever had an idea for a new product that would make people's lives easier or a game that could be a best-seller? Mind-Studios is a product design and development lab housed at UCCS that serves community clients ranging from individual inventors to medium-sized companies. By providing services including refining and evaluating ideas, prototyping devices, providing manufacturing guidance and producing multi-media documentation and advertisements. Mind-Studios is working to foster innovation to the Pikes Peak Region while supporting area businesses. Whether you're looking to launch your own idea or simply gain a more creative approach to problem solving, you'll be sure to enjoy this inside look at product design.

University Club Year-End Reception: Literacy on the Go (LOGO)

Friday, April 19, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the UCCS Upper Lodge

Thousands of children in the Pikes Peak Region are in desperate need of educational assistance, particularly in regard to reading skills. Learn about ways you can help through Literacy on the Go (LOGO), a UCCS program that distributes books to low-income families in the Pikes Peak Region. Coordinated by Dr. Barbara Swaby in the College of Education, LOGO helps children in need to learn how to read and  develop advanced literacy skills. We encourage you to donate a new or good condition used book to help support the LOGO effort.
