Approval of minutes from March 22, 2006. An agenda and March 22, 2006 meeting minutes were distributed. Radek Lopusnik noted the catering issues regarding food service timing and the accuracy/quality of food service products was not in the minutes. The minutes will be revised to include these additional remarks. Radek motioned to approve with noted changes and Pam Mercer seconded the motion. Approval of minutes to be placed on next agenda, quorum not present.

Status of Sodexho's General Manager Search: Currently, Russell Saunkeah is the interim Sodexho General Manager. The interview panel has been interviewing candidates. Originally, there were three candidates to interview, but one took a position at Colorado College, leaving us with two remaining candidates. The committee asked Sodexho to provide additional candidates and two more were selected, giving us four possible candidates for the position. The current candidates have a variety of skills and experiences. Hopefully, by Friday, April 28, 2006, an offer will be made to one of the candidates. If so, an email will be sent out to campus notifying campus of the new Sodexho General Manager.

Jazzman's Hours and Pub Coffee: Jazzman's has extended their hours to: 7:30am -9:00pm Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-7:00pm Friday, 12:00pm-6:00pm Saturday-Sunday. If these hours receive positive feedback then Jazzman's will continue with their extended hours into next semester. The Pub will also start serving coffee when Jazzman's is closed.

Review of Issues Noted in Previous Meetings: Jeff noted that he spoke with Abby regarding issues she brought up about the lesser quality of service and menu mix-ups from Sodexho catering. Jeff stated that any food service concern may be directed to him. In the previous meeting, Radek brought up an incident where catering brought yogurt to an event but did not bring any spoons and delivered the food late. A discussion of off–campus catering ensued. Jeff noted that Sodexho, like most university/college food service providers, has an exclusivity of food service on campus. The University Center and Breckenridge meeting rooms are the only exemption to the exclusivity. Jeff noted that next Fall, the committee will begin discussions of the Food Service Contract. Specifications of the Food Service Contact will be reviewed by the committee and changes/improvements will be discussed. Sodexhos contract will officially end May 31, 2007. It was also noted that summer is the best time to re-bid for a food service provider, especially, if vendors change or food areas are reconstructed. Jeff informed the committee that the bids received from vendors are very lengthy and will include 4 weeks of residential menus plans, detailed company solubility, and menu plans for retail operations. Furthermore, vendors will be asked to include a no-frills/low-cost catering menu for clubs and organizations. Jeff noted that food service operations in Fall 2007 will include an additional operation similar to Jazzman's in Dwire and an operation in the new Recreation Center.

Promotion Emails: Jeff noted that several promotional emails had been sent out by Janette Freyre, Overlook manager, but that additional information should be provided regarding the new options available at Freshens. Jeff noted that he tried the flat bread taco special yesterday at the Ultimate Baja and that it was good.

Canteen and Pepsi Vending Refunds: It was noted that Canteen Vending and Pepsi are now giving out refunds separately. The University Center Information Desk will be keeping a separate tally of refunds for each company.

Miscellaneous: Over the summer, Jeff noted that he and Sean will take the Sodexho General manager, Catering manager, Residential kitchen manager, and Retail manager off campus to do a day of team building and goal setting. With the change in management, he noted that this would assist in establishing good working relationships.

Sean noted that the residential students filled out comment cards online about the candidate interviews for Sodexho General Manager.

The Food Service Advisory Board Meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
