General Transfer Questions


What all do I need to apply at UCCS as a transfer student?
- You will need to fill out an application https://www.uccsadmissions.org/transfer/
- Submit Official transcripts of previous college coursework
- $50.00 application fee
- Official High School Transcript or GED
- ACT/SAT scores (if you have less than 13 transferrable credits)

· When should I apply?

We highly recommend that you apply during the following timelines to have the best chance of admission:

-         Spring 2012 - apply between June 1, 2011 and January 18, 2012
-         Summer 2012 - apply between September 9, 2011 and May 1, 2012
-         Fall 2012 - apply between September 9, 2011 and August 1, 2012
-         Spring 2013 - apply between June 1, 2012 and January 5, 2013
-         Summer 2013 - apply between September 9, 2011 and May 1, 2012
-         Fall 2013 - apply between September 12, 2012 and August 1, 2013

· How much is tuition?

· Do I have to attend an orientation?

Yes. This is when you learn important information about the school and register for classes. You will also have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor to see how your credits applied to your degree and what courses you have left to take. · What scholarships are available to transfer students?

Out of State Students

·  I am from out of state and I want to transfer to UCCS, how will my credits transfer?
You can receive an official transcript review within a week of being accepted to UCCS. Just go to www.uccs.edu/apply to apply. The transcript review will tell you exactly which courses transfer and how your individual courses apply to your degree. As a newly accepted student, you will also attend transfer orientation and meet with your academic advisor.  They will provide the official credit evaluation and chart a degree plan towards graduation.

As long as your previous college classes are not remedial/technical courses, they are from an accredited institution and if you have a "C" or higher, your courses should transfer.

Four Year In-State Transfer Students

· I want to transfer to UCCS from another university, which credits will transfer?

· How do I know which courses I can take at my community college before I transfer to UCCS?

This is a combined list from all fifteen of Colorado's community/junior colleges Any transfer course from any of the institutions will transfer and be equated as indicated, provided the transfer course has an acceptable grade.

 

·  What is the University Connection Program? How do I qualify? Where can I fill out an application?

The University Connection Program is a scholarship program offered to any Colorado community or junior college students with at least two full semesters remaining toward the completion of an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science planning to transfer to UCCS.
