Will I need to do anything else besides enrolling in UCCS University Connection and completing the program to gain admission to UCCS?
While you receive guaranteed admission by meeting the requirements of the UCCS University Connection program, you still need to complete and turn in an application for admission to UCCS. You must write "Connection" at the top of your application to UCCS or in the Personal Statement section of the online application form.
It is stated that I will receive a tuition reimbursement as part of the UCCS University Connection program. Does this mean I have to pay to apply for the UCCS University Connection scholarship program?
No. It is free to apply for the UCCS University Connection scholarship.
How do I qualify for guaranteed admission into one of the specific colleges at UCCS?
By participating in the UCCS University Connection Program and completing your Associate's Degree with a GPA of 2.0 or higher, you will be granted guaranteed admission into the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, or the School of Public Affairs, but to receive guaranteed admission into the other colleges here at UCCS, you need to meet the following requirements:
| College of Business: Complete the Associate of Arts-Business option with a GPA of 2.7 or higher. |
| College of Engineering & Applied Science: You need to have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and also have transfer coursework in calculus and physics with a GPA in the respective coursework of a 2.5 or higher. |
How is the scholarship awarded to me, and when will I receive it?
The scholarship is actually an application fee waiver and tuition reimbursement. After it has been determined that you have completed your Associate's Degree and maintained a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.0 or higher, Financial Aid will award you a tuition reimbursement. The amount of the reimbursement will be distributed according to the number of credit hours you have enrolled for at UCCS:
| Tier 1 Students: 9 credit hours or more first semester: $800. 6-8 credit hours first semester: $400 9 Credit hours or more second semester: $800. 6-8 credit hours second semester: $400 |
Tier 2 Students: 9 or more credit hours first semester: $800 6-8 credit hours first semester: $400 |
Note: Reimbursement money does not carry over from semester to semester. Please keep in mind that you will not receive the award until two to three weeks into the semester. |
I met all the requirements for the UCCS University Connection scholarship, and am now currently attending UCCS, but I still haven't received my award. What could be wrong?
Often, the transcript that has been sent from your institution does not display a degree being conferred, and the UCCS Office of Admissions and Records is waiting for a final transcript. It is also possible you did not indicate that you are in the UCCS University Connection Program when you completed your application to UCCS. If it has been more than three weeks since the semester started and you still have not received your award for UCCS University Connection, please contact the Transfer Advisor at 719-255-3019.
