Transfer to UCCS


                                                              

Below you will find information about Transfer Admission Criteria by College. Please note that most of the information is relevant to students transferring from another school in Colorado. If you are transferring from an out-of-state school, please contact the Transfer Coordinator, Linda Foltz (800-990-8227 x. 3019 or lfoltz@uccs.edu) for assistance with course recommendations.  

UCCS College of Business
Grades Earn a C- or better in all courses
 
GPA needed to transfer Achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, including all remedial and repeated courses. Note: Students with GPAs of 2.0 or better also may apply to the College of Business and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students who are not initially admissible to the College of Business will be considered for admission to the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences (LAS) until they meet certain grade, course and GPA requirements. At that time, they may transfer to the College of Business.

Application Apply to UCCS after completing at least 15 hours or, if you are completing an Associate’s degree, apply the semester before your final semester at the community college. Application
 
CC Degree If you are transferring from a Colorado Community or Junior College after completing a degree, an Associate of Arts (A.A.) with an emphasis in Business is preferred.
 
University Connection Scholarship Open to all Colorado Community and Junior College students.University Connection Program 
  

Elementary Education, UCCS College of Letters, Arts & Sciences  
Grades Earn a C- or better in all courses and a B or better in ENG 121
  
GPA needed to transfer Achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.4 or better, including all remedial and repeated courses. Note: Students with GPAs of 2.0 or better also may apply.  However, they will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. 
Application to the Education program will be completed after the student has transferred to UCCS
   
Course Recommendations For course recommendations check out the Statewide Articulation Agreement for Elementary Teaching.In addition, take specific recommended courses, depending on your major, as part of your electives: Elementary Education Transfer information

Note: Students with GPAs of 2.0 or better may also apply to the College of Engineering and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students who are not initially admissible to the College of Engineering will be considered for admission to the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences (LAS) until they meet certain grade, course and GPA requirements. At that time, they may transfer to the College of Engineering.

CC Degree Many students who transfer to engineering programs do not complete an Associate’s degree.  However, those who do complete the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree.

UCCS College of Letters, Arts & Sciences

GPA needed to transfer Achieve a cumulative GPA 2.4 or better, including all remedial and repeated courses.   Note: Students with GPAs of 2.0 or better also may apply and be considered for admission.  
 
Course Recommendations For course recommendations check out the Statewide Guaranteed General Education  (Pathways) Program.In addition, follow the LAS Transfer Advisory for your major.  
 
Application Apply to UCCS after completing at least 15 hours or, if you are completing an Associate’s degree, apply the semester before your final semester at the community college.

UCCS Beth-El College of Nursing & Health Care Science  
Grades Earn a C- or better in all courses
 
GPA needed to transfer NURSING: Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better; UCCS includes ALL courses in the GPA.  Students with GPAs of 2.0 or better also may apply.  However, they will be considered for admission to the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences (LAS) until they meet the College of Nursing grade, course and GPA requirements.  At that time, they may transfer to nursing or health care science.  
If you are a transfer student with fewer than 30 hours, you will be considered on Freshman Admission Criteria. HEALTH CARE SCIENCE: Achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better; UCCS includes ALL courses in the GPA.  Students with GPAs of 2.0 or better also may apply.  However, they will be considered for admission to the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences (LAS) until they meet the College of Nursing grade, course and GPA requirements.  At that time, they may transfer to nursing or health care science.  
 
Course Recommendations NURSING: No Nursing courses are accepted from a two-year institution unless the student completed the Associate’s Degree in Nursing. However, other courses may be taken and are included on the Nursing Transfer Guide. HEALTH CARE SCIENCE: Follow one of the UCCS Transfer Advisories for either Forensic Science or Nutrition. CC Degree NURSING: Students who complete an Associate’s Degree in Nursing may apply to the RN to BSN program. Check out the RN to BSN Transfer Guide for more information.HEALTH CARE SCIENCE: Many students who transfer to health care science programs do not complete an Associate’s degree.  However, those who do may complete either the Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree.
