TLC Mission Statement: To facilitate the innovation, outcomes and scholarship of teaching and learning at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

SPRING 2009 PLANNING

Call for participation: The TLC staff is planning programming to facilitate the departmental and college revision of criteria for reappointment, promotion and tenure to align with the redefinition of scholarship to include the scholarship of teaching and learning.

"[The] Scholarship of Teaching and Learning is the serious, rigorous study of teaching and learning that evolves into the sharing of pedagogical research."

With the intention of integrating this development into the programming of the TLC, we are planning spring semester activities in which faculty can actively demonstrate a comnitment to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning:

  1. Events which promote exchange of the sharing processes and results gathered during research projects related to teaching and learning in any and all environments.
  2. Workshops, round table discussions or other programming for faculty focussing specifically on inovative pedagogy in one's own discipline.
  3. Research and dissemination of information to the campus regarding multiple means of evaluation of teaching and the scholarship of teaching to facilitate the articulation of criteria for evaluation of these areas.
  4. Feedback and suggestions for TLC programming may be transmitted by email to kandrus@uccs.edu or by using our online feedback poll found at http://www.surveymonkey.com/
