Bio: Regina Winters received her undergraduate degrees in political science and music and an MPA from the University of Wyoming. She is currently working toward her Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has served as a public administration instructor/lecturer at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Iowa State University. She teaches courses in research methods, nonprofit management, public policy, and citizen participation. Her research interests include governance networks, workforce development, and nonprofit development. She has worked as a volunteer coordinator for Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, and been involved in community and neighborhood planning projects in Nebraska and Wyoming.
Ms. Winters pursued a career in public administration because public administration is uniquely eclectic. One moment a person can be working on citizen participation issues related to sewer construction and the next on the resettlement of refugees from Sudan in the Midwest. Anything is possible with a degree in public administration and for those individuals like Ms. Winters who crave variety and challenge---this creative field is a perfect fit!
Ms. Winters feels at the UCCS School of Public Affairs she has the privilege of introducing present and future public and nonprofit administrators to innovative and time-tested policy practices that strengthen the quality of life of residents of the Rocky Mountains for generations.
