Ms. Winters pursued a career in public administration because public administration is uniquely eclectic. One moment a person can be working on citizen participation issues related to sewer construction and the next on the resettlement of refugees from Sudan in the Midwest. Anything is possible with a degree in public administration and for those individuals like Ms. Winters who crave variety and challenge---this creative field is a perfect fit!
Ms. Winters feels at the UCCS School of Public Affairs she has the privilege of introducing present and future public and nonprofit administrators to innovative and time-tested policy practices that strengthen the quality of life of residents of the Rocky Mountains for generations.
Areas of Interest: Governance Networks in Public Policy, Workforce Development, Nonprofit Management and Development
Ms. Winter’s top reads for public service include:
John Hersey’s (1945/1988) A Bell for Adano
Alan Greenspan’s (2007) The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World
Muhammad Yunus’ (2003) Banker to the Poor
Mary Parker Follett”s (1918/1998) The New State: Group Organization Solution of Popular Government
