About Us

School of Public Affairs logoAccording to UCCS Chancellor Dr. Pam Shockley-Zalabak, UCCS’ “rise to the position of the number 1 regional comprehensive research university in the nation will depend on the security of…faculty, students and staff to ask hard questions of each other, investigate sensitive matters, and to debate the issues that shape [the] future. At the same time, [UCCS] will fail in its responsibility to create a supportive community of learners if [it] allows the human dignity of any of our members to be denied or challenged. [UCCS] seeks to broaden…discussions, enable free inquiry, and encourage innovative thought while ensuring that discriminatory, bigoted or intolerant remarks are not part of our conversation.”

It is within this context of the larger UCCS that the School of Public Affairs
continues to be a nationally ranked, top-tier school.  The School of Public Affairs is the only school of public affairs in the Rocky Mountain West. We take pride in our programs, from innovative concentrations in Nonprofit Management and Nonprofit Fund Development to the highly successful introduction of our first undergraduate degree in 2007.  The School of Public Affairs is a school committed to making an impact in leading, solving and changing!
