Sport is one of the largest industries in the U.S. generating annual revenues over $200,000,000,000. From game-day operations, to player representatives, to equipment designers, sport offers a wide range of career options. But, sport is also one of the most challenging industries to enter.
So how do you get your foot in the door? It comes down to three factors: 1) education, 2) experience, and 3) contacts. How we can help you with each of these three issues is what sets the Sport Management program in the College of Business at UCCS apart from the competition.
Education: Sport Management students at UCCS are business students who graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree in Sport Management from an AACSB accredited school - the highest standard of business school accreditation available (only the top 5% world-wide meet this standard). Whether you elect to build a career in sport or move on to another industry you have the training you require to enter the world of business.
Experience: Few, if any, programs can match our internship offerings. Between the United States Olympic Committee headquarters and training facilities, 20+ National Governing Body headquarters (e.g. USA Basketball, USA Volleyball, USA Swimming, USA Hockey and more), seven professional teams in Denver, local collegiate sports programs (US Air Force Academy, Colorado College, and UCCS), and our contacts with English Premier League soccer clubs we offer our students an outstanding range of internships opportunties and experiences.
