Student Health Center Services

Please note that we do not provide services or treatment for chronic pain, but we are happy to help you find a pain management specialist.

Allergy Shots: Allergy injections prescribed by a private health care practitioner may be given at the Student Health Center under limited circumstances. You must supply and maintain your own antigenic extract, and provide written instructions from your allergist. Allergy injections are given during specific hours, and appointments are necessary. We cannot store extract in the center.

CLASS EXCUSES: Class attendance policies are determined by individual faculty members and only they can excuse an absence.

Appointments: Students are encouraged to call ahead for appointments at 255-4444. We do not have "walk-in" appointments hours, but we do offer a limited amount of same day appointments for acute care visits.

CHARGES: The clinic is a fee for service clinic. An office visit fee will be charged based on the complexity of the visit. Additional charges may apply for tests or medications. Examples of charges:

  • All Office Visits .......................$15
  • Any labs or tests ordered will incur an additional cost.  Please note that charges are subject to change at anytime and there may be additional charges for collection of blood and/or specimen. For example, a $5 blood draw charge.

  • The Center accepts UCCS Student Health Insurance only. Students with other insurance or no insurance are welcome to use the Student Health Center, but are expected to pay at the time of service. We will provide you with receipts to submit to your private insurance for reimbursement.
  • Office Visit fees cover professional services provided at this facility only. Additional services and supplies (Lab tests, supplies, pharmacy items, X-rays, referrals to outside physicians, visits to other facilities, etc.) will be charged in addition to the office visit fee.
  • It is the student's responsibility to know his/her insurance benefits and the items and providers their insurance will cover. Some insurance plans will not pay for services performed at the Center.
  • The Center accepts cash, checks (with appropriate ID), and major credit cards.
