ROC's vision: “Ending a culture of violence”

Relationship abuse touches 1 in 3 college women and men and 1 in 6 homes. Sexual Assault happens to 1 in 4 women and 1 in 17 men. Interpersonal violence happens here in our community. It does not discriminate.

The mission of ROC is to raise awareness and increase knowledge about dating and domestic abuse, stalking and sexual assault. We empower members of the UCCS community to respond to these social problems as proactive bystanders; one caring action at a time will ultimately create a culture of Respect and Safety.

Respect on Campus (ROC) serves as a violence prevention program to the UCCS community. The program is federally funded through the U.S. Office of Violence Against Women.

Through a coordinated community response approach, we train students, staff, faculty and law enforcement, and we work to revise judicial policies to align more closely with Title IX mandates.
