In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Police Department is issuing notice of a violent crime that occurred in the parking lot of 5424 North Nevada Avenue, near the Timberline Village at Sunset Creek Housing complex.
Reported Offense: At approximately 12:03 a.m., two UCCS students reported to the Colorado Springs Police Department as having been the victims of a robbery. The students reported they were parked outside of 5424 North Nevada Avenue, and their vehicle was blocked in by two suspect vehicles that pulled in behind them. During the encounter, both suspects displayed firearms and demanded the victim's wallets, and one of the students was physically assaulted. The suspects then fled in their vehicles, last seen leaving the apartment complex towards Nevada Avenue. University of Colorado Colorado Springs Police officers responded after being notified by the Colorado Springs Police Department about the crime.

The first suspect was described as 5'10", wearing a blue jersey and baggy jeans, driving a white in color 4-door BMW sedan. Possible Threat to Students Traveling on Foot Through the Surrounding Neighborhood
October 26, 2012
In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the University Police is giving notice of a suspicious occurrence reported to have occurred near the intersection of Linda Vista Road and Mount View Lane, an area commonly traveled by students walking to and from the UCCS campus.
Reported Offense: A female student just reported to the University Police that she was walking to her vehicle off campus last Thursday (10/18/12) around 6:30pm when a white male, age 45-50, balding, approached her at the intersection of Mount View and Linda Vista asking for directions to a house in the area. At one point the male asked her to get in his car to help look for this house. His vehicle was described as a four door dark in color (possibly dark blue) and possibly a station wagon (she stated it was an "outback type car") and newer model with a German Shepard in the back. When he asked her to get in the car she left the area.
It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible "dangerous conditions" on or near its campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an "affirmative duty" exists to warn persons associated with this university of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties. Consider carefully whether your presence at or near this area while unaccompanied could place you in danger.
If you have any information that might be helpful in this investigation, contact the University Police by telephone at 719-255-3111, or in person at the UCCS Department of Public Safety.
