Hazardous Waste Training

 

Training is required for any UCCS employee that generates or handles hazardous materials. This training will include information about waste identification, container labeling, and waste storage. This training shall also include emergency procedures, emergency system, and a review of the hazardous materials regulatory requirements set forth by EPA, OSHA and CDPHE.

Training is offered in a classroom setting in the fall prior to the start of the school year. It is also available on line here (please note this is the same course as Lab Safety Training:

 

 

All training records must include the dates of training sessions, contents or a summary of the training session, names of persons conducting the training and names of persons attending the training session. Each department will be responsible for assuring everyone who works with chemicals (lab instructors, teaching assistants, professors, etc) are trained.

 

Initial Chemical Safety Training is required within six months of hire and then annually after that.
