June 26th: (Additional Information) Now Hiring Psychology 2110 Lab Instructors!
There are three positions open for MA psychology students to teach lab sections for the undergraduate introductory research methods course. These positions require experience with research and an interest in teaching. Duties include teaching lab sections (giving lectures and leading discussions), giving feedback on and scoring written work, and assisting students to design and conduct research. Preference is given to incoming students, but students who are starting their second year and planning on taking three years to complete their MA degree should also apply. Please submit a vita and a letter describing your interest in the position and relevant experience via email to Lori James (ljames@uccs.edu) before July 9th.

May 1st: Palisades partnership recognized with City of Colorado Springs award (link to the Communique). Mayor Steve Bach presented the Palisades at Broadmoor Park with a Spirit of the Springs Award Monday afternoon in recognition of the groundbreaking partnership between the privately owned senior housing facility and UCCS.

April 26th: Dr. Mello and grad student Tahlia Bragg were celebrated as mentors on April 29th during mentor recognition lunch. Read about it here in the Communique.
April 14th: Dr. Wurtele authored an article featured in the Gazzette.com. Read Professional perpetrators' exploitation of youth is preventable.
April 12th: Dr. Coolidge, Dr. Segal, Dr. Klebe, and graduate students Peter Marle and Karenleigh Overmann authored an article published in Behavioral Sciences & the Law, entitled Prevalence of ADHD and Its Subtypes in Male and Female Adult Prison Inmates.

Dr. Mike Kisley, the Director of Graduate Training in Psychology, announced a new, limited allocation of funds within the Psychology Department to help offset travel expenses for graduate students travelling to meetings that will contribute to their professional development. The Human Neurophysiology Lab at UCCS has unveiled a new website! Jim Hicks, a UCCS student, developed the site in collaboration with Professor Mike Kisley (Lab Director) and the graduate students, honors students and research assistants that work in the lab. Dr. Michael Kisley was recently assigned as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Integrative Neuroscience. The journal is adding a new stream in Neuropsychophysiology and Dr. Kisley will be overseeing the review of manuscripts in this area.
Dr. Tom Pyszczynski - His work was mentioned in the New York Times on Aug 29, 2011, in an article entitled Imagining the Downside of Immortality.
Dr. Sara Qualls was honored by theGirl Scouts of Colorado as a Woman of Distinction.
Sheri Gibson - Ph.D. Student - Received the Society of Clinical Geropsychologists (APA Division 12/II) Graduate Student Paper Award for exemplary student research.
Nathaniel Diede - MA Experimental Student - Was honored by the UCCS Graduate School to receive a $500 Carl Kisslinger Graduate Student Research Award. This fellowship is sponsored by the CU Retired Faculty Association. He is currently working with Dr. Michael Kisley in the UCCS Human Neurophysiology Lab.
