Clinical Psychology PhD Program Overview
The Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is an APA accredited program that is built on the Boulder Scientist/Practioner Model. The program has been accredited since 2007 and has full accreditation through 2019. The program has two curricular foci that students choose between. The first is our Geropsychology curricular emphasis, which was established in 2004. This scientist-practioner model program produces students who become academics, practitioners, trainers and administrators in the emerging focus area of Clinical Geropsychology. The program follows the Pikes Peak Model of Competencies in Geropsychology. The second curricular focus is in Trauma Psychology. This emphasis is designed to train students who have a particular interest in conducting research and working clinically with traumatized individuals.
