Convocation

Welcome | Event Details | About Professor Andrea Herrera | FAQ

On behalf of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), the Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to invite all students, faculty, staff, and University friends to attend our 2012 Academic Convocation Ceremony scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, in the Gallogly Events Center. A free barbeque will follow the ceremony on the University Center Upper Plaza.

Held to celebrate the beginning of our new academic year, this casual and fun ceremony will feature a greeting from Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak and a keynote address by Dr. Andrea Herrera, UCCS Professor of Literature, Director of the Women's and Ethnic Studies Program, and CU President's Teaching Scholar.

Convocation officially opens the academic school year and is our chance to welcome our new students, faculty, and staff to the UCCS family. We hope all will come together to celebrate the beginning of another academic year of continuing opportunities for study, discovery, and friendship.
