Scholarships specifically for PGA Golf Management students at UCCS are available after the student has been in the program for at least a year. Potential sources of scholarships that students might otherwise pursue on their own include:
In addition, students are encouraged to inquire at their local and state golf organizations regarding financial assistance opportunities for participants in the PGA Golf Management™ Program.
Students are also eligible for a wide range of other types of financial aid and assistance that are available through the University Financial Aid Office. Out-of-state students who exceed specified entrance examination scores or (grade point averages for transfer students) can qualify for additional scholarships offered by UCCS.
All incoming students who wish to be considered for financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and specify that it be sent to UCCS. This requirement applies even if the student is not seeking federal assistance.
Out-of-state students may be eligible for annual scholarships that reduce their tuition and/or housing costs.
Residents of most western states are eligible for a special tuition status at UCCS at a level equal to 150% of the in-state charge. The following states participate in this "Western Undergraduate Exchange Program": Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. PGA Golf Management applicants from these states who wish to be considered for WUE status must include a statement to the effect when submitting their university application.
The State of Colorado does not grant in-state status to students who remain wholly or partially dependent on their parents while enrolled with the University. Additional information on this policy and the process for gaining resident status can be obtained by inquiry of the UCCS Admissions and Records Office.
Scholarships are awarded annually to the four students who achieved the highest GPAs in their class. The PGA of America offers scholarships that are awarded to an already enrolled student after a competitive application process. The PGMSS offers a yearly Student Society Award to an upperclassman. The Program Team annually awards a student with the Directors Award based on all around contributions to our program. Students are also eligible to receive the Dow Finsterwald Scholarship through the George B. Lee Foundation that is offered to a graduate of a Colorado High School who enters a PGA Golf Management Program. Also, the Gary Loo Community Service and Involvement Award is presented to the student who has contributed their time and talent by giving back to the Colorado Springs area community.
Internship performance awards are issued annually to the most deserving students on their second and third internship experiences.
