10:30am to Noon Campus Class: “It’s JUST a Movie!” – A Lesson in Critical Media Theory

Take part in a classroom experience with Dr. Christopher Bell that is sure to get you thinking. Thinking is what college is about, right?

Noon to 2:00pm Lunch on Your Own

2:00pm to 4:00pm Breakout Sessions (You’ll choose one per attendee)

Studio UCCS – presented by Carol Kumm, Orientation Coordinator
Tap into your creative side as you are guided step-by-step through a UCCS painting experience.
All supplies (apron, canvas, paint, and brushes) and drinks provided.

Mother/Daughter RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Course – presented by UCCS Public Safety
Learn how to defend and protect yourself from sexual and abductive assaults. Work through some tips and tricks for keeping yourself safe and becoming more aware of your surroundings.
Women only. Wear appropriate workout attire and shoes.

Clyde’s Ride – facilitated by Steve Linhart, Dean of Students
Explore the Austin Bluffs trail system on bike.
Bicycles will be available to rent through Campus Recreation.

Historic Walking Tour of Campus with Associate Professor of Psychology, Dr. Robert Durham
Dr. Robert Durham has been on campus since the 1960’s. Join him on this walking tour of campus as he shares a unique historic perspective of UCCS.
Bring warm clothes/layers and your walking shoes.

Rectravaganza – sponsored by Campus Recreation
Join Annette Briggs, Associate Director of the Recreation Center, and her staff for a sampling of various fitness classes offered through the UCCS Recreation Center.
Wear appropriate workout attire and shoes.

Out and About On Your Own
Take advantage of this time with your student by exploring Colorado Springs attractions on your own.
Cost not included in registration fee.

5:00pm to 7:00pm UCCS Tailgate BBQ & Spirit Night

Hear those Mountain Lion’s roar! Help cheer on the UCCS Women’s Volleyball team as they prepare to take on Metro State.
BBQ dinner is provided.

7:00pm to 8:30pm UCCS Women’s Volleyball vs. Metro State (Parent and Family Night)

Free admission with ticket provided in check-in packet.

8:30am to 10:30am Farewell Breakfast and Family Weekend Photos

Enjoy a hot breakfast with your student before you say “see you later” and have a family photo taken with our mascot, Clyde.

11:00am UCCS Men’s Soccer vs. Colorado Christian

1:00pm UCCS Women’s Soccer vs. Metro State
