Welcome Back!

Below are the events MOSAIC puts on yearly. Make sure you keep an eye out for new events each semester. Plus, the office is always open Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm in the University Center during the Fall semester, so come check us out!

Events

A Multicultural Affair
These once-a-semester gatherings are a celebration of diversity in all forms. Our first Multicultural Affair was held in September of 2013 and was a smash hit. The recorded attendance was almost double what was expected. Our next Affair will be held September 18 from 11:00am - 2:00pm in Berger Hall.

Coming Out Week

National Coming Out Week is October 6th - October 10th. We host a variety of events throughout the week, including SafeZone Training and a Guess Who's Gay panel. Over 250 people attended the events at last year's coming out week celebrations, and we're hoping that this year is even bigger.

World AIDS Day

December 1st is World AIDS Day. Thursday, December 4th we will be providing HIV testing and an AIDS panel. In 2012, we were fortunate enough to host 4 panels of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt here at UCCS. In 2013 we were able to get 4 panels again. They were displayed between Dec. 2 - Dec. 5. Our office always has events planned near this day, so make sure you watch the website or facebook for more info.

Religious Diversity Event

The LGBT Resource Center and M.O.S.A.I.C. teamed up with The Center for Religious Diversity and Public Life at UCCS to present the first "Speed Dating with God" event last Spring. More information for the Spring 2015 event will be forthcoming as the event nears.

Programs

Student Clubs

There are several ethnic clubs on campus, including the Latin Student Union, the Black Student Union, Asian Pacific Islander Student Union, and the Hawaiian club, among others. To get more involved on campus with any of these clubs, you can check out their Facebook pages, or their Mountain Lion Connect pages.

Mentorship programs

M.O.S.A.I.C. offers a first-year mentorship program for minority freshmen. You can be paired on the basis of ethnicity, major, native language, sexuality, hobbies, veteran status, disability status or any other criteria that you'd like. Be aware that we may not always be able to match you based on your first choice.
