Jenny Dorrington

Director

Jenny earned her PhD in algebraic topology from Northwestern University. Her current interests include geometry, differential geometry, and the history of mathematics. She loves working with students, and invites you to drop by to talk any time.

Michael has a bachelors degree in mathematics from San Jose State University and a masters in mathematics from UCCS. After spending many years in industry, he is pursuing graduate work in math.

Nathan Carlson

Nathan is currently working towards a bachelor's in computer science. He is especially interested in cryptography and encryption algorithms.  In mathematics, he particularly enjoys methods of integration and vectors. He loves to encourage and help people, especially with math. Outside of school he enjoys hanging out with friends.

Zach Citrone

Zach is a senior mechanical engineering major. He enjoys calculus, especially integration, and is intrigued by the golden ratio. He like to spend time outside and plays music in his free time. He really enjoys learning, and may want to be a teacher someday.

McKenzie Genin

McKenzie is a junior mechanical engineering major, with minors in math and aerospace. Her interest in mathematics corresponds to realistic applications; her favorite is differential equations. She is a 3rd year returner on the UCCS Women's Soccer team and enjoys hiking, snowboarding, camping, and pretty much anything else outdoors.

Lily is from Colorado Springs, and graduated from Palmer High (go Terrors!). She spent four years at the Colorado School of Mines, learning all kinds of fascinating engineering concepts, and earning her bachelor's degree in 2010. While at Mines, she worked on the school newspaper all four years, eventually becoming the managing editor. She is currently working towards her MBA, and enjoys tutoring all levels of math and physics.

Jewell Anne Hartman

Jewell Anne received a BS in physics and a BA in mathematics summa cum laude from UCCS. Currently she is a PhD student in physics specializing in Metamaterial Optics & Nanotechnology. Jewell Anne is teaching Math 1040, PES 1160 and PES 2150 this semester in addition to doing her physics research and tutoring math and physics. She loves helping others and helping students see the fun and practicality of mathematics & physics.

Katie Hendricks

Katie graduated from Adams State College with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. She is currently working towards a master of science in mathematics. She loves all areas of math, especially analysis and topology.

Brian Hendrix

Brian is a junior electrical engineering major, with minors in physics and math. He likes all areas of math, but especially integration by parts. Outside of school some of his many hobbies include playing music (drums, violin, and guitar), video games, and snowboarding.

Veronica is currently working towards her bachelors in nursing. She loves helping others, especially with math. Her favorite areas of math include integrals and derivatives. Outside of school, she enjoys rock concerts, Chipotle, and family.

Taylor Klotz "TK"

TK is an undergraduate in applied mathematics with an emphasis in physics. His favorite areas of math are differential geometry, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, and complex analysis. His favorite areas of physics are astrophysics and wave mechanics. His goal is to become a math or physics professor at a university nearby some mountains. Other than math and physics, TK plays guitar, goes hiking, does (traditional) archery, paints miniatures, and plays shooting and strategy games.

Austen is an undergraduate majoring in mechanical engineering, with minors in mathematics and aerospace engineering. He looks forward to pursuing a career in the aerospace industry. He enjoys mathematics and what can be accomplished by understanding numbers. Outside of school, Austen loves to be outdoors during any season and to play video games when he has free time.

Kevin McCaw

Kevin is a sophomore mathematics major, with a minor in philosophy, emphasizing logic. He particularly enjoys areas of math dealing with algebraic manipulation and multi-variable calculus; other interests include gastronomy, epistemology, and game theory. Apart from academia, Kevin enjoys camping, satire, the eating of good food, music, and relaxing with friends.

Carl Monroe

Carl has a BS in physics, and is currently a graduate student pursuing a ME in space operations. He plans to pursue a PhD in theoretical astrophysics. His favorite areas of math are calculus and algebra. When not tutoring students in the Math Center, in class, or with his nose in a physics book, he enjoys playing  bongos, the violin, the piano, and riding motorcycles, among other things.

Charity is an electrical engineering major, minoring in mechanical engineering. She is a knowledge enthusiast who enjoys learning about physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, and anything else anyone will teach her. She's also a fan of science fiction who eventually hopes to break into the field of robotics.

Jeff is a junior mechanical engineering major. He enjoys most math classes, and doesn't really prefer one over another. In his spare time, he enjoys basketball, the outdoors, and working out.

Meral Sarper

Meral Sarper is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in aerospace and electrical engineering. She loves astronomy and hopes to be an astronaut one day. She enjoys all areas of mathematics with a passion, but her favorites are algebra, trigonometry, and integration, as they are the most applicable to the real world.

James Sibert

James is a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering and mathematics, with a possible minor in aerospace engineering. He likes to point out that he would never before have thought that he would be pursuing this course, and that he has only made it this far by the help and encouragement of others. He wants you to know you can do it, too! Apart from school, he likes indoor and outdoor soccer, mountain biking, chess, photography, and skiing.
