What is the Mobile Vet Center?

  • The Mobile Vet Center (MVC) of the Department of Veterans Affairs provide readjustment counseling and information resources to Veterans across the state of Colorado. The Mobile Vet Center focuses services that help Veterans make the difficult transition between military and civilian life
  • The MVC is equipped as an "office on wheels", with the capacity to provide emergency support for natural disasters. The MVC houses a satellite dish that connects to communications and audio-visual equipment, six phone lines, a fax line, notebook computers, four encrypted computer lines, and WiFi gear.
  • Two dividers separate the MVC into private counseling rooms.
  • For emergency situations, the vehicle comes with a medical exam table, a defibrillator (AED), first aid kit, beds, a shower, refrigerator, microwave, and a long list of amenities useful in sever situations.
  • Objectives
    • Outreach to locate eligible veterans and engage them in programs that meet their readjustment needs
    • Provide counseling and other services to eligible veterans and their families
    • Refer veterans to appropriate community agenciea and service providers
    • Serve as a liaison between veterans and other VA facilities
    • Provide follow-up to ensure that eligible veterans receive adequate services
    • Offer community education to inform the public of the needs of veterans who served in combat or other situations of armed hostilities and the services of the Vet Center.
