Military Dependents

The Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVA) assists veterans, active duty and others eligible for Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits and tuition assistance.

The office is supervised by the university and bound to complete documentation and maintain records according to the guidelines of the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is dedicated to assisting students reach educational goals while serving our country.  In an effort to minimize the negative effects of institution policies on a student while serving in the armed forces, the Office of Veterans and Military Affairs are available to assist you. 

If you are a student in the armed forces and are given orders to deploy, relocate or go on Temporary Duty (TDY), please contact the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs.  After presentation of military orders, the Office of Veterans and Military Affairs will assist students with notification of deployment to applicable departments and professors, course withdrawals, and refund of tuition and fees (if applicable).   As an alternative to refunds, approving authorities in each academic department may allow a student alternative options to complete coursework i.e. an incomplete grade, extended time, to complete course work within reason.

A student may request notation of deployment appear on his/her academic transcript.
