Which Majors require the Math Placement Test?
Many majors at UCCS require a math course that will require you to take the Math placement test. For a list of those majors and which math courses they require, CLICK HERE. If you don’t plan to major in one of these areas and you don’t plan to take a Math course numbered MATH 099 or above you do not need to take the Math Placement Test.
What if I’ve already taken a Math course at a different College?
If you are transferring Math course credits from another College (or if you took a course at UCCS) you do not have to take the placement test if the course was taken within the past 2 calendar years. If the course was taken over 2 years ago, you must take the Math Placement Test before registering for a Math course. If the course was taken at a different College please request a transcript from that institution and take it to the Student Success Center so that the transfer credits can be added to your CU record.
