Abstract:
I will discuss an experimental modification to the curriculum for the Introduction to Differential Equations course (Math 340). The goal was to include a modest number of relevant lessons on Matlab, explaining how it could be used for computing solutions of differential equations. The approach, course notes, and student reactions will be discussed.
