UCCS swept the competition at the Region V American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Competition in Minneapolis, MN April 5, 2014. The following students will now represent UCCS at the International Student Competition in January, 2015 in Orlando, FL
     1st Individual Undergrad – Stephen Sloan
     2nd Individual Undergrad – Corbin Spells
     1st Individual Graduate – Ryan Bosworth
This is the 3rd year in a row that UCCS has won the Undergraduate category and second in a row for the Graduate category. Region V incorporates such schools as CU Boulder, CO School of Mines, CSU, USAFA, Univ. of MN, Missouri Univ. of Science and Technology, St. Louis Univ., Univ. of Kansas, Wichita State, Univ. of Texas-El Paso, and Kansas State.
