The minimum requirements for regular admission into the MSME program is as follows:

• BS in engineering, applied mathematics, or physics from an accredited institution.
• An undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a scale of 4.0 in all college level academic work attempted.
• Successful completion of the following undergraduate mechanical engineering core courses (with MAE equivalent listed): Dynamics (MAE 2104), Strength of Materials (MAE 3201), Fluid Mechanics (MAE 3130), and Thermodynamics (MAE 2301)
• Successful completion of the following undergraduate math courses: Differential Equations and Linear Algebra/Engineering Mathematics
• Provide scores for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

Applicants who do not meet these requirements for regular admission may be admitted on a provisional basis subject to the recommendations of the MAE graduate committee.
