Faculty Position

Assistant Professor / Systems and User Experience Librarian

Kraemer Family Library, University of Colorado Colorado Springs

The Kraemer Family Library at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) seeks applications from energetic, innovative librarians for its newly created position, Systems and User Experience Librarian. As a member of the Web Services and Emerging Technology team, this position plays an integral role in administrating the integrated library system (ILS) and supporting other library web services with an emphasis on ensuring functional and accessible end-user design. Other specific responsibilities include enhancing and promoting the online library catalog and other discovery tools, conducting usability testing, exploring new and emerging technologies for improving library services, and training library faculty and staff on catalog enhancements and new technologies. This tenure track position also includes general reference desk duties, library instruction, collection development and liaison duties with selected academic departments, participation in library policy formulation, university and professional service, and research and creative work.

Appointment and Salary: The successful candidate for this position will be appointed as a full-time (12 month) tenure-track faculty member. Depending upon professional experience, demonstrated accomplishments in scholarly activity, creative work and service, initial appointment may be at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. Salary range is $43,000 - $55,000, depending upon qualifications.

Assistant Professor / Instruction Librarian

Kraemer Family Library, University of Colorado Colorado Springs

The Kraemer Family Library at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) seeks an enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative instruction librarian to help support and strengthen the library instruction program at UCCS through the application of information literacy standards, instructional technologies and pedagogies, and assessment techniques. The Instruction Librarian is part of a team that provides a full range of information support to the UCCS community. Responsibilities include participation in reference, instruction, collection development, liaison activities, as well as the research/publication and service requirements for tenure and promotion at the University. This is a tenure-track academic appointment starting at the rank of assistant professor.

This is an entry level position, and we welcome applications from candidates who have recently received or will receive an ALA accredited MLS by June 2014.

Appointment and Salary: The successful candidate for this position will be appointed as a full-time (12 month) tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. Starting salary range is $43,000 - $46,500, depending upon qualifications. Benefits include 15 days of sick leave, 22 days of vacation, 10 paid holidays per year, University group health care plan, group life insurance, and TIAA/CREF retirement/annuity.
