Center Information


The services of the Center are available to all CU students, faculty and staff.

The LSSC has 29 networked computers running Windows 8 and Microsoft Office 2010 with Language Packs. Each computer has a headset and microphone.  Additionally, the LSSC has partnered with the Kraemer Library in providing an online access to the Mango Language Learning software offering support for 51 languages and English as second language, as well.  The link is available through the Kraemer Library Home page; click on databases; "m" for Mango and then select Mango.  Any UCCS student has access to this software from any location.

We have three LCD monitors with multiformat VHS/DVD players. We have a media library (available for checkout and on-site viewing) as well as language reference materials for students studying in the center.

In addition, we offer the following services:  

  • Drop-in one-on-one tutoring (Dwire Hall 270) and some tutoring by appointment
  • Language specific conversation tables
  • Placement and diagnostic language proficiency testing
  • Access to international news
  • LCD projector
  • Television
  • All region/all format VCR/DVD Player
  • Video recorder for language faculty check-out
