Holiday Shopping - Scams

Nearly all of us use the internet to connect to others, shop for gifts, or just browse for good deals.  The problem is criminals know this and are increasing their attacks.  Even if a status update from one of your friends on Facebook says "Free iPhone 5" or free $50 gift card", don't click on it, it might be a scam.  Here are what the experts are saying will be the "hot" scams this year - You can look through the entire article here:

Old Employee Portal ( Shutdown

Tomorrow November, 14th the old Employee Portal will be shutdown.  All systems previously available in are now located in the new employee portal via the CU Resources Tab within the portal.  If you have student employees please be sure they can access the the CU Resources Tab.  If they do not have a CU Resources Tab please have them contact the Help Desk.

Software Update Notes:

  • Microsoft November Updates - Please make sure you save your work before you head home tonight (11/13). The updates may cause your computer to reboot.
  • Mac November Updates - Be sure to update your Mac, click on the Apple icon in the top left corner and click on Software Update... be sure to install all updates.
  • Adobe NovemberUpdates - Be sure to update your Adobe products (11/6).  There are some critical patches to Flash and AIR that affect Windows, OSX and Linux that need to be installed.
  • Latest Firefox version: 16.0.2
  • Latest Google Chrome Version: 23.0.1271.64
  • Latest Java Version for Windows: 7 update 9 or 6 update 37
