Windows and Mac- New Operating Systems Coming Soon

Once every 3 years Microsoft releases a new operating system.  This coming Fall Microsoft will be releasing Windows 8. Microsoft is promoting Windows 8 as a single operating system that will work on your computer, tablet and phone.  The IT Department will begin testing Windows 8 later this summer and will provide a recommendation as we draw closer to the Fall release date.  For more information and a preview of Windows 8 please click here.

Apple releases a new versioon of their Mac operating system anually.  Yesterday they announced the next version, Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8) which will be released in July.  Apple will be integrating more iPhone/iPad like features into their next release.  Due to Apples busineess model we are unable to test their new operating systems until after it is released to the general public.  This does limit our ability to offer it to the campus at the time of release, we will follow up with the campus once we have finished testing Mountain Lion.  For more information on Mountain Lion please click here.
