Children in the Library

Children in Labs

Kraemer Library strives to provide an atmosphere conducive to study and research. Patrons with children are welcome. However, to protect your children, as well as in recognition of the rights and privileges of other library patrons, please observe the following:

  • Young children may not be left unattended in the library.
  • Anyone bringing young children into the library shall take full and complete responsibility for them and must monitor their activity.
  • Children are expected to use the library in a quiet, orderly manner just as we expect from all patrons. Loud, noisy or disruptive behavior is inappropriate in the library. Children, as well as the responsible adult, will be asked to leave if this type of behavior occurs.
  • Children may not use computers or other equipment in the library unless under direct adult supervision. There are no filters on internet access. See Computer Use Policy.
  • A Parent Child Room is located on the third floor, EPC Room 302. The play area is designed for young children. A VCR is located in this room, and children’s videos may be checked out through the Reserve desk. Parents with children have priority in this room. Children should not be left unsupervised in this area.
