The Core Course

• The heart of each language level.
• Focuses on developing language skills through integration of grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking, while also touching on and building content knowledge (science, social studies, literature, art, culture, history)
• Meets 3 hours a day for 4 days per week.

Satellite Courses

• Intensive study of specific elements of language and/or content areas.
• Aimed at contextualizing language and further developing students' levels of content knowledge to ease the transition into academic classes.
• Scheduled twice a week for 4 hours per week.
• Satellite classes may include:
  • American History
  • Academic Writing
  • Listening and Speaking
  • Pronunciation
  • Intensive Grammar
  • CALL
    
    

 Full-Time Students 

• Required to take at least 20 hours of instruction a week.
• Enroll for one core course and at least two satellite courses.
• Citizens, permanent residents, and F1, J1 visa holders fall into this category.

Part-Time Students

• Can take between 4 and 16 hours of instruction a week.
• Choose to take core courses or satellite courses.
• Citizens, permanent residents, and F2, J2 visa holders fall into this category.
