
Eligibility Criteria for Entering Freshmen
- have an ACT score of 25 or above or an SAT score of 1200 or above; and
- earn a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 or above; and
- complete the online UCCS Honors application, essay, and statement of objectives
Eligibility Criteria for Continuing UCCS and Transfer Students
- successfully complete between 18 and 60 hours of post-secondary coursework and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher; and
- complete the online UCCS Honors application, essay, and statement of objectives
Note: In cases where continuing/transfer students have completed fewer than 18 hours of post-secondary coursework, the entering freshman criteria will be used.
Good Standing Requirements
University Honors students shall maintain good standing in the Honors Program if they maintain a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.75 and complete their Honors dedicated and designated courses with a grade of B or better and do not violate other University, College or Departmental rules and policies sufficient for disciplinary action.
Graduation Requirements
University Honors students shall graduate with University Honors if they:
- successfully complete a minimum of 18 credit hours of Honors-dedicated or designated courses (at least half of which must be upper division), including the First Year Honors Seminar (3 credits), the Honors-dedicated section of Public Speaking (3 credits), and the Honors Capstone Seminar ID 4950 or an approved departmental capstone course in the student's major (3 credits); and
- maintain a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.75; and
- successfully complete all dedicated and designated Honors courses that they present for graduating with University Honors with a grade of B or higher; and
- actively participate in all required Honors events
