From the Start screen click on Desktop
Right Click on the Network icon in the lower right corner of your desktop and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Set up a new connection or network.
Double-click on Connect to a workplace.
If you see this screen, just make sure No, create a new connection is selected, and click Next.
Double-click on Use my Internet connection (VPN).
Type transporter.uccs.edu where it asks for the Internet address:. Type UCCS Library VPN (Transporter) where it asks for the Destination name:Then, click Create.
Click on the Network icon in the lower right corner of your desktop and right-click on the UCCS Library VPN you just created. Then click on View connection Properties.
Go to the Security tab, Click on Allow these protocols and ensure Microsoft CHAP version 2 (MS-CHAP v2) is checked
Go to the Networking tab and click on Internet Protocol Version 4 to highlight it. Then click the Properties button.
Click on the Advanced button.
Ensure there is a checkmark in the box titled Use default gateway on remote network.
Click on the DNS tab. Type uccs.edu in the DNS suffix box, and click to add checkmarks to both boxes below. Click the OK button on the 3 different boxes.
Click on the Network icon in the lower right corner of your desktop and select the UCCS Library VPN (Transporter), click the Connect button
A screen asking for your credentials should show up. Type your IT username and password in their respective boxes and click OK to connect.
To access the Library databases, open an internet browser and go to www.uccs.edu/library. From here you can search the databases or journals.
NOTE: For instructions on searching databases and using the UCCS Library VPN, reference the library's help page. When you're finished, click on the Network icon, high-light the VPN, and click the Disconnect button.
