Resources VPN for OSX 10.4

SUMMARY: This document will walk you through the necessary steps to set up the UCCS Resources VPN (Voyager) connection in Mac OS X 10.4. The UCCS Resources VPN (Voyager) connection is used to access the UCCS Servers (i.e. Excelsior, Enterprise, Columbia, etc.) as well as other additional resources.


    1. Double-click your Harddrive icon on your desktop.

    1. Open Applications and then open Internet Connect.

    1. Click the File menu and select New VPN Connection. Select PPTP and click Continue.

    1. Type voyager.uccs.edu for the Server address. Insert ufp\your UCCS username for Account Name. Insert your IT password in the Password field. Click the drop down menu for Configuration and choose Edit Configurations.

    1. Type UCCS Resources VPN (Voyager) in the Save As field. Click the Save button.

    1. Click OK.

    1. Open your harddrive icon on your desktop.

    1. Open Applications and then open Internet Connect.

    1. Click the Connect menu and select Options. Ensure there is NO check in the Send all traffic over VPN connection box. Click OK.

    1. Click to select the correct VPN. The server address is voyager.uccs.edu. Click the Connect button.

    1. Verify the connection is established. The Status at the bottom will say Connected To.

NOTE: You can use the following link to set up shortcuts to the Enterprise and Excelsior network shares.

    1. Click on your desktop to enable Finder. Click Go and select Connect to Server.

    1. Enter cifs://enterprise2.uccs.edu:139/users$ in the Server Address field and click the + button to the right.
      Now enter cifs://excelsior2.uccs.edu:139/students$ in the Server Address field and click the + button.

    1. Insert UFP for the Workgroup/Domain.
      Insert your UCCS username and password, then click the OK button.

    1. An icon with the name of the network folder will appear on the desktop. Double click the icon to access network folders.

    1. Click the Disconnect button when you're finished.
