Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret

The Healthy Campus Initiative, SEAS, the Local Food Club, the Nutrition Club, and the Flying Carrot, with support from SGA, are co-sponsoring a screening of the newly released film Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret. Join us for an evening of local food and lively discussion of this groundbreaking and controversial film that focuses on the impact of animal agriculture on sustainability. 

Two Poets Laureate Read Their Work
Dave Mason, Colorado State Poet Laureate
Janice Gould, Pikes Peak Poet Laureate

David Mason's books of poems include The Buried Houses (winner of the Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize), The Country I Remember (winner of the Alice Fay Di Castagnola Award), and Arrivals. A former Fulbright Fellow to Greece, he served as Poet Laureate of Colorado from 2010 to 2014 and teaches at Colorado College. 
Janice Gould's tribal affiliation is Koyoonk'auwi (Concow). Janice was recently named the Pike's Peak Poet Laureate for 2014-2016 and was recognized with a "Spirit of the Springs" Award from the City of Colorado Springs. Her poetry is published in over sixty journals and reviews.

The Jazz Orchestra of the Springs

The Jazz Orchestra of the Springs was founded by composer and trumpeter Sean Schafer Hennessy.  Its mission is to bring back the old in a time of the new, through fresh arrangements of old classics as well as original tunes written and arranged by the band members themselves.  The Orchestra is lead by Hennessy, and features players as arrangers, composers and soloists.
