This month will feature two VAPA Music Performances in GOCA1420
Saturday, April 23rd, 7 pm
VAPA Contemporary Music Ensemble including Glen Whitehead (trumpet & electronic) , Jane Rigler (flute & electronics) and two guest artists: Christian Pincock (trombone & electronics), and Janet Feder, prepared guitar.
Thursday, April 28th at 3:30pm
The VAPA Chamber Music Ensemble is proud to present a Soundpainting concert, in which they will collectively create an original musical composition in real-time. After careful rehearsal and diligent work, this ensemble has learned many hand-signals from the Soundpainting repertoire (invented by Walter Thompson) in which a conductor controls and guides an ensemble to compose in real-time. The gestures are intuitive, fun, and even the audience can participate. Join us for this free, inspiring, and innovative musical journey.
Another Soundpainting event by Professor Jane Rigler's Performance Art class happens on April 25th in the Upper Plaza of Ucenter at 2:30 pm. This is an interdisciplinary show, incorporating actors, visual artists and musicians together creating simultaneous composition. It will last about 30min. max and should be extremely entertaining and fun--Christian Pincock will be conducting.
