Study Smarter, Not Harder: This interactive workshop will go over effective and efficient ways to manage your time and discuss best practices for studying to retain information and be prepared for tests.

Note-taking Workshops: This workshop will discuss best practices for taking notes in a variety of settings and how to use your notes while studying.  It will also cover resources that can be helpful in taking notes.

  Explore our interactive workshops in three easy steps:

          1. Log in to Mountain Lion Connect.

          2. Search for First Year Experience.

          3. Once you're in the First Year Experience portal, click on the Events tab. To RSVP, click on the name/date of the
              workshop that you would like to attend and click "yes, I will be attending." There is limited space for each workshop.


Individual Student Meetings:

If you are a UCCS student and would like help with time management, study skills, or note taking for your classes, and you are not able to make it to any of the above group workshop dates, please contact the Office of First Year Experience to schedule a time to meet with someone in the office.  We are able to schedule appointments with students to talk about academic skills for the success of their classes.

If you are interested in setting up a workshop for your class, please contact Stacy Carosa at scarosa@uccs.edu.  We are able to offer the Study Smarter, Not Harder and Note Taking workshops in your class.  If you have questions about our interactive workshops, individual meetings, or setting up a time for a workshop in your class, please call 719-255-7502.
