Early Alert and Grade Recovery
Early Alert Program Every semester our office collaborates with faculty to identify students who are not doing well in their classes due to poor academic performance, lack of attendance, and/or personal issues. Early Alert is designed to assist struggling first year students to identify problem areas in their academic endeavors and stand beside them as they get back on track. Many times students don't realize how easy it is to fall behind. When students show up in our Early Alert system, we connect them with an academic coach and other support services to help them get back on track to reach educational goals.
Grade Recovery Are your grades what you hoped they would be this semester? Many freshmen find that they do not do as well as they expected. This can be due to not studying enough, having unrealistic expectations, missing class, not turning in assignments, or a number of different reasons. Whether or not you show up on Early Alert, we are here to help. The Office of First Year Experience will gladly help you create an academic plan to help you get back on track and be successful. Please call the Office of First Year Experience at (719) 255-3688 to schedule an appointment to get back on track. We can help you get connected to the best resources to help you succeed. Here are just a few of the FREE resources that we offer to help you get back on track: •	Centers of Academic Excellence: http://www.uccs.edu/~projexcel/ •	Course Specific Tutoring •	Supplemental Instruction Sessions •	Academic Coaching •	Interactive Academic Workshops •	Faculty/Staff Mentorship For more information about any of our resources, please feel free contact us at FYE@uccs.edu or (719) 255-3688.
