Student Clubs

There’s more to UCCS than simply classes and studying. UCCS currently has over 115 clubs and activities! You’ll find clubs from social, academic, political, religious, and recreational clubs. To see a listing of all the clubs available check out www.uccsoca.edu. If you don’t see what you’re interested in, create your own club. It only takes 2 people to become an official UCCS club.

How do you get involved? It’s simple! At the beginning of each fall semester the Office of Campus Activities hosts a large club fair where you can learn about what each club does and how you can be a part of it. Get connected – you’ll never forgive yourself if you don’t!

The Office of Student Multi-Cultural Affairs

Serves as a location for development and awareness of campus-wide multicultural programs to tie academic affairs with a diverse campus environment, and to develop resources that strengthen and enhance a diverse faculty, student and staff population.

  • Encourages cultural exchange between students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
  • Provides and promote support services and association among culturally diverse student organizations
  • Collaborates with the Faculty Senate Minority Affairs Committee and Student Success Initiative to promote improvement in the delivery of recruitment and retention services to a diverse student population.

Recreation Office

With the completion of the new $8 million Student Recreation Center in the fall, the Campus Recreation Office has even more ways for students to challenge themselves, explore, and have fun!

If you’re the type of person who enjoys getting outdoors and tackling all that Mother Nature throws at you, get connected with Outdoor Life.  They lead UCCS students on various hiking, camping, rafting and climbing expeditions each year all around the area.

The New Student Recreation Center
The UCCS Recreation Center includes a pool, climbing wall, dance studios, state-of-the-art weight and cardio equipment, indoor track, basketball courts, and a café. More than just the Gym and Fitness Center, Recreation Sports offers Intramural Sports, Outdoor Trips, like the Spring Break 2007: Rafting Desolation Canyon, the Bash the Bluffs 3 K Race, and Club Sports.

The Chancellor’s Leadership Class

The Chancellor’s Leadership Class (CLC) is a highly selective undergraduate honors program designed to develop effective leaders. Through coursework, community service, skill building, and mentoring, students have the opportunity to enhance their leadership abilities. To allow students to focus their full attention on the program, CLC provides a $3500 scholarship renewable for up to four years.

Theatreworks

UCCS is home to the professional theater company, Theatreworks. Commuter Students

For those students who commute to campus, the Commuter Student website provides several services and opportunities to connect with other commuter students. With only 900 students living on campus, the vast majority of UCCS students commute.
