Does film reflect culture or create it? This course examines social issues through film. What is valuable in our society? How are socio-cultural hierarchies constructed? How do films and other media affect the ways we think about ethnicity, gender, and cultural identity? Through an array of films, this course will face tough questions in today's complex world.
