A famous philosopher once said, "Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards." This course takes a focused look at life and death. You'll explore the dilemmas we face, investigate key issues that affect us from conception through death, and examine the variety of experiences that shape us as human beings. Circle of Life will draw on artistic, scientific, religious, political, and ethical issues that frame our diverse views of birth, death, and the time in between. Circle of Life is a service-learning course with connections to the community. Students are involved with a resident at one of the senior housing facilities in town, spending approximately 12-15 hours with the senior.Instructors
