Audacity

Audacity is a a free program for both Windows and Mac systems for recording and editing audio. Files created in Audacity may be posted on a website, inserted into Powerpoint or Keynote, or used to record an audio podcast. By connecting a tape recorder into the microphone port of your computer, you can transfer audio files from an analog to digital format. If you need help learning how to use it, Audacity has released some good beginner tutorials. There is also an Audacity wiki, which has guides to help you achieve some more difficult things. You can also create an RSS feed.

GarageBand imageGarageBand

GarageBand is an application in Apple's iLife package that allows you to create and record music and other audio clips. With GarageBand you will also have the ability to record audio from a microphone much like audacity.

Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office is full of tools made to help you accomplish just about anything you could imagine. However, if you have little experience using Office, it can be quite confusing. Luckily, Microsoft has realeased many in-depth guides for every program in the Office suite. Tutorials for Office are available on their web site.

Respondus

Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard. The Respondus web site describes all the features Respondus has to offer. The FRC uses Respondus to prepare and upload test banks for faculty using Blackboard. We can scan and convert questions into Blackboard format and upload them into your course. We can also assist faculty in copying test banks from old courses to new ones.
